1800 lbs. of rainbow trout were planted in Caples Lake courtesy of Alpine County on September 21st... just in time to drop a line and enjoy all the delights that fall has to offer in the High Sierra.
Fall fishing in the Sierra is spectacular: the weather is perfect, vibrant wildflowers give way to the showy fall foliage and fishing is at its finest. Caples Lake is a favorite among anglers for its trout - rainbow, brown, brook and mackinaw – as well as its exquisite surroundings.
Caples Lake Resort has everything you need to enjoy a day on the water - drop into our new store for provisions and gear, rent a boat or launch your own. Our friendly staff is always happy to help set the stage for adventure!
Last day for resort operations is Monday, October 16th. There's still time to reel in a couple more epic fall days in the heart of the California Alps - where blazes of golden Aspen lead to the rainbow... trout that is.
